Two Nimrod flights from RAF Kinloss have taken off after being cancelled due to delays for safety checks on the fleet following a crash in Afghanistan. A Nimrod flight from the Moray base - in mourning for the lost crew - was cancelled on Tuesday evening after a "minor technical issue".
The Ministry of Defence (MoD) said there had been a potential issue not related to the crash.
Defence Secretary Des Browne has been visiting the base to offer sympathy.
Twelve of the 14 men killed in the Nimrod crash were based at RAF Kinloss.

By the time the technical issues were dealt with on Tuesday the training flight was cancelled because the crew had been on stand-by since the early hours, in what their captain described as a "trying week".
It eventually took off at 0751 BST with a full crew. A second Nimrod flight also took off.
A four-man board of inquiry will investigate the cause of the Afghanistan crash, which is thought to have been due to a technical fault.
Moray MP Angus Robertson has urged the government to send the bodies straight to RAF Kinloss rather than RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire to avoid any delays.
The small Moray community is beginning the healing process, with counselling being offered to both young and old. Relatives have been paying tribute.
