Chemical Brothers join Ness mix
The Chemical Brothers' Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons
Chemical Brothers Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons have signed up
The Chemical Brothers and Daft Punk will headline the Highland's biggest music festival.

Rock Ness, staged outside the village of Dores on the shores of Loch Ness, has been expanded to a two-day event and will be held on 9-10 June.

DJ Fatboy Slim, aka Norman Cook, headlined last June's event, which generated 6.5m for Highland businesses, according to one study.

Alabama 3 and The Cuban Brothers are among other acts to sign up.

Giant Nessie

Last summer's show drew a crowd of 23,500 people with half coming from outside the Highlands, according to consultancy and event management firm Fair Pley, which carried out an economic impact study.

Local accommodation providers reported that the concert had made up for a downturn during the World Cup.

As many as 3,000 people stayed in a specially set up campsite at Dores, but many others stayed in Inverness.

The party finished with a fireworks display as Fatboy Slim played his seminal dance track, Praise You, while a giant Nessie, projected on to giant video screens, bobbed in time to the music.
