The Rock Ness dance music festival on the banks of Loch Ness generated �6.5m for Highland businesses, according to an economic impact study. The festival at Dores, near Inverness, in June drew a crowd of 23,500 people.
Half the festival-goers came from outwith the Highlands, said the report by consultancy and event management firm Fair Pley.
Local accommodation providers reported that the concert had made up for a downturn during the World Cup.
DJ Fatboy Slim, aka Norman Cook, and Skye-born DJ Mylo performed at the festival, which was the biggest event of its kind to ever be staged so far in the Highlands.

It involved lengthy organisation and presented Northern Constabulary with a major task policing the event and managing traffic congestion.
As many as 3,000 people stayed in a specially set up campsite at Dores, but many others stayed in Inverness.
The party finished with a fireworks display as Fatboy Slim, aka Norman Cook, played his seminal dance track, Praise You, with a giant Nessie bobbing in time to the music projected on giant video screens around him.
Organisers hope another festival can be held next year, but staged over two days instead of one.
