The Army has asked the News of the World newspaper to allow it to view a mobile phone clip which appears to show soldiers taking drugs in Cyprus. The images are said to show soldiers from the Royal Highland Fusliliers.
A spokesman said the Army's Special Investigations Branch wanted to look into the images
Last week two soldiers from the Royal Scots Borderers approached army investigators after video footage emerged of apparent drug taking.
Military police
The men from the Royal Scots Borderers, 1st Battalion the Royal Regiment of Scotland, appeared in a mobile phone video which was made public on Monday.
The troops involved contacted military police at a barracks outside Scotland.
An army spokesman said it was very unlikely any Class A drugs had been involved and that would be taken into account by investigating officers.
The pictures were passed to the military by the Daily Record newspaper.
The 27-second clip showed a number of young men snorting white powder while others cheered them on.
