Two soldiers who were filmed apparently snorting illegal drugs have made themselves known to army investigators. The men from the Royal Scots Borderers, 1st Battalion the Royal Regiment of Scotland, appeared in a mobile phone video which was made public on Monday.
The troops involved contacted military police at a barracks outside Scotland.
An army spokesman said it was very unlikely any Class A drugs had been involved and that would be taken into account by investigating officers.
The pictures were passed to the military by the Daily Record newspaper.
The 27-second clip showed a number of young men snorting white powder while others cheered them on.
