Thieves targeting sat nav systems
Sat-nav unit in car
Thieves will search glove boxes and under seats for the devices
Police have urged motorists to take their satellite navigation systems with them when they park after a spate of thefts in South Lanarkshire.

Officers said that vehicles with the devices were being targeted and thieves were searching glove boxes and under seats.

Six cars were broken into in East Kilbride and Hamilton over a two day period.

Drivers were also urged to do more to protect their radios and CD players.

Insp Iain Wilson, from Strathclyde Police community safety department, said: "We are asking owners to be aware of the attraction of these devices to the criminal and ensure that they remove them from their cars when not in use."
