Human remains are missing woman's
Agnes Mechen
Agnes Mechen's remains were found in a flat in Govanhill
Human remains found in a house were those of a grandmother who had been missing for more than four years, police have confirmed.

Detectives have been trying to trace credit agent Agnes "Nessa" Mechen, 62, since she disappeared in Govanhill, Glasgow in August 2002.

Her remains were found in a house in Jamieson Street, on Sunday.

Robert Kelly, 30, was charged with her murder at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday and remanded in custody.

A committal hearing for Mr Kelly is due to take place at Glasgow Sheriff Court on 6 February.

A massive police search for Ms Mechen at the time of her disappearance revealed no trace of her.

Her story came into the spotlight again on the BBC2 show Tales From The Edge, which was broadcast in December.
