Council strike talks take place
Glasgow City Council chambers
Discussions over the pay dispute are continuing
Discussions are taking place between Unison and Glasgow City Council ahead of proposed three-day action, due to begin on Tuesday.

Unison has opposed changes to the council's pay structure, which it claims could cost some members up to 9,000.

A walk-out by council staff would affect all services, including daycare, nurseries and social work.

The council has pledged take action to minimise disruption.

In a joint statement, following a meeting at Glasgow City Chambers on Saturday, council leader Steven Purcell and Unison's Mike Kirby said: "We can confirm that discussions between Unison and Glasgow City Council have taken place ahead of next week's strike action.

"Dialogue will continue over the next 48 hours and neither Unison or the council will comment before a further statement on Monday."
