His motorbike left the road on the A828 North Connell to Ballacuillish road near Oban.

The 42-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene and a report is being sent to the procurator fiscal. Police are appealing for witnesses.

In total, six people died in road accidents on Sunday including three fatalities in a six-vehicle pile-up on the A75 in Dumfries and Galloway.
