The Makumbu family were taken to Dungavel after the raid |
A family from the Democratic Republic of Congo have been detained in a dawn raid in Glasgow. It is believed Caritas Sony Makumbu and her daughters, Heaven, two, and four-month-old Glad have been taken to Dungavel Immigration Detention Centre.
They were detained at 0640 BST at Kingsway Court, Scotstoun, prior to their deportation.
The raid comes after the first minister vowed to investigate why a protocol on raids had not been fully implemented.
An agreement was reached between the Home Office and the executive on improvements to the way failed asylum seekers with families would be treated.
The protocol stated a named professional from an education or social services background would act as a liaison officer in such cases.
Jack McConnell made his comments after a dawn raid on an Algerian family, also living in Kingsway Court, Scotstoun.
