Three Algerian asylum seekers detained in a dawn raid in Glasgow have been granted a temporary court order to prevent them from being deported. Leila Benai, 36, and her two children, Ousama, 11, and Mayssa, two, were due to be returned home on Friday morning.
A judge at the Queen's Bench Division of the English High Court granted a temporary injunction.
Moves are to be made for a judicial review of the case to be heard in the Scottish courts.
The three Algerians are being held in the Home Office's Tinsley House Detention Centre near Gatwick airport.
The children's father, Azaddine, who escaped from their flat when immigration officials arrived, has remained in Glasgow.
He escaped by jumping from his first-floor flat in Kingsway Court, Scotstoun, on Wednesday.
The Benai family have been seeking asylum in Scotland for three years.
Mr Benai said he would be killed if he returned to Algeria.
