Glasgow rebranded as Scotland with style two years ago
Scotland's largest city has been voted the UK's number one by readers of a travel magazine.

Cond� Nast Traveller readers voted Glasgow as the winner in the Best UK City category.

Alex Mosson, chairman of Glasgow City Marketing Bureau, said: "This demonstrates a real vote of confidence in Glasgow as a vibrant, cosmopolitan and stylish destination."

Readers scored on food, entertainment, accommodation, people and culture.

Mr Mosson added: "Winning an award of this calibre is testament to the incredible progress made in changing visitor perceptions of the city since the launch of the Glasgow: Scotland with style campaign in March 2004."

Scott Taylor, chief executive of Glasgow City Marketing Bureau, added: "The competition that Glasgow faces against cities challenging to be the best place to visit has never been fiercer."
