A �15m purpose-built school for the deaf and children with speech and language impairment has opened its doors in West Lothian. Donaldson's College, a specialised residential and day school, which has facilities for up to 120 pupils, is supported by the Scottish Government.
Donaldson's trustees agreed to sell off Haymarket site, Donaldson's School For The Deaf, to a developer for �15m.
The Category A building had fallen into disrepair, making way for 63 flats.
Janice MacNeill, principal of Donaldson's, said: "This is a hugely exciting milestone in our 150-year history.
"All the pupils and staff are thrilled with our new school. "It allows us to meet modern demands and enables Donaldson's to continue our work in delivering the very highest standard of specialist teaching and care."
