Two charged following deaf school inquiry
News image
Allegations of physical assaults on pupils have been made
News image
Police have charged two people after a long-running inquiry at a school for the deaf.

They were called in earlier this year amid allegations that pupils had been physically assaulted.

Detectives say their investigation at Donaldson's College for the Deaf in Edinburgh is now over.

It is believed that they have interviewed a number of people connected with the school.

Lothian and Borders police declined to give any further details about the two people, or the nature of the charges.

A spokeswoman said: "The police inquiry into Donaldson's College in Edinburgh has been concluded.

"Two people have been charged and a report submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."

No date for a court appearance has been set.

The college building, in Edinburgh's West Coates area, is a city landmark and the school is one of the best known in the city.
