Thousands of festival-goers have been enjoying the cream of the Edinburgh Fringe for free. The annual Fringe Sunday sees more than 100 performers take to the Meadows area of the capital offering spectators a flavour of what is on offer.
As well as shows, art displays and craft stalls, music and children's activities are also on offer.
Organisers say that about 200,000 people take advantage of the free taster every year.
Youngsters also got the chance to display their creative talents as they competed to write the best review of the shows.
The Fringe Junior Press Gang award aims to introduce children aged 9 to 11 to art criticism.
A shortlist of entrants from 10 Edinburgh schools will file reviews from Fringe Sunday.
