More than 3,100 men have taken part in the Men's Health Forum Scotland 10k run in Glasgow. It was a record number of participants for the event which is the UK's sole 10k only for men. Participants of all sizes, abilities and ages - from 15 to to 81- encouraged each other around Bellahouston Park. Former footballer Christian Dailly and Celtic Lisbon Lion squad member Joe McBride both ran to raise money for Maggie's Cancer Caring Centres. Dailly, 36, who left Rangers at the end of the season, said: "I really enjoyed taking part in the race today. The atmosphere was great and I was very impressed that so many guys turned up to take part. "It's a great opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of men's health in Scotland and to raise money for charities such as Maggie's Cancer Caring Centres." Mark Ward, of the Men's Health Forum Scotland, said he was delighted by the success of this year's event which had drawn men from throughout the country. He said: "We are determined to help raise awareness about the need for men throughout Scotland to consider the importance of looking after their mental and physical health."
