Margaret Curran said more Asbos were now being issued

The Scottish Executive event, which was opened by Parliamentary Business Minister Margaret Curran, will tour 15 local council areas during the summer.

The event aims to raise awareness about the resources available to residents affected by anti-social behaviour.

Community wardens and police officers will be on hand to offer advice and ministers will also attend the roadshows over the next three weeks.

The event will be the focus of a national advertising campaign.

Ms Curran said: "Anti-social behaviour is a serious issue and things won't change overnight, but everyone should have someone to turn to locally for help and advice.

"Local communities themselves are looking closely at how local agencies are responding to their real and legitimate concerns.

"The fact more Asbos are being granted suggests they are becoming increasingly recognised as a vital tool in the fight against crime in our communities."
