The council sees anti-social behaviour as a complicated issue

The project will provide intensive support and supervision for families with social difficulties.

The initiative is one of several being launched across Scotland and will be paid for through funding from the Scottish Executive.

It also aims to tackle related issues including homelessness, health problems and poor attainment at school.

Problem families will be assigned workers to help them make use of support services.

They will also work to help families understand the consequences of their behaviour and encourage them to change for the better.

Alistair Barr, convener of Perth and Kinross Council's community safety committee, said anti-social behaviour was a complicated issue to tackle.

"It is imperative to our success that we are able to target troubled and troublesome families with the assistance and support that they need in accessing frontline services," he said.
