Award for problem estate campaign
An initiative to tackle anti-social behaviour on Preston's Callon Estate has won a national Home Office award.

Representatives from Preston City Council and Lancashire Police have flown to America for an anti-social behaviour conference as a prize.

The Tilley award recognises partnerships that tackle POPS (problem oriented partnerships) - a specific form of anti-social behaviour.

The Callon estate focuses on tackling problems around the community shop.

Lancashire Police said many residents were too frightened to visit the shop before the project - called return of the happy shopper - began two years ago.
