Hospital closures to be debated
Plans to shut cottage hospitals in Jedburgh and Coldstream are to be discussed in the Scottish Parliament.

Roxburgh and Berwickshire Lib Dem MSP Euan Robson has put forward a motion to debate the proposals for future health provision in the Borders.

Hundreds of locals have turned out at rallies in the region to protest against the closure plans.

NHS Borders said the facilities were no longer suitable for providing modern quality health care.

The Scottish Parliament will debate the issue on 23 March with the local health board to decide the way forward a week later.
