Police have seized counterfeit goods worth more than �1m during a raid at a market in Glasgow.

Strathclyde Police seized DVDs, CDs, computer games, MP3 players and a DVD burner at the Barras market.

Thirteen people are the subject of reports to the procurator fiscal following Saturday's raid.

Superintendent Jim McKechnie, the officer who led the operation, said the raid was the biggest of its kind at the market this year.

The raid also involved officers from the Federation Against Copyright Theft and the British Phonographic Industry.

Mr McKechnie said: "Today's operation at the Barras was intelligence-led and the biggest of its kind this year.

"The seizure is part of an ongoing joint operation which will continue throughout the Christmas period.

"Strathclyde Police is committed to working in partnership with other agencies to deliver maximum impact to the criminality element in the market."
