KT Tunstall will entertain revellers at the Hogmanay bash |
Texas and KT Tunstall have been announced as the headline acts for Edinburgh's Hogmanay celebrations this year. They will take to the stage at the Royal Bank Street Party along with fellow Scots rockers El Presidente.
KT said she had dreamed of playing Edinburgh's Hogmanay, adding: "As a Scots lass it's the gig of a lifetime."
More than 100,000 revellers are expected to line the streets of the Scottish capital for the event.
It will be the second time Texas have played, having entertained the crowds at the Millennium celebrations.
Singer Sharleen Spiteri said: "There is nothing better for me than to bring the bells in, in Scotland."
KT added: "Until we're on that stage, I won't believe we're allowed on it."
Tunstall and Texas are headlining the Concert in the Gardens, with the 8,500 tickets for the event going on sale on Saturday.
Edinburgh's Lord Provost, Lesley Hinds, said: "I am delighted that this year's Concert in the Gardens has such a strong Scottish line up, and I am sure the three acts will help make Edinburgh's Hogmanay 2006 an unforgettable occasion."
Peter Irvine, director of Unique Events, which organises the concerts, said: "This year audiences at the Royal Bank Street Party will be treated to an irresistible triple helping of Scottish music at its very best.
"I'm delighted to welcome back Texas, who have gone from strength to strength since they last rocked the Concert in the Gardens.

"Add the exciting new talent of KT Tunstall and El Presidente and it goes to prove that Edinburgh will be the place to see in the New Year."
St Andrews-born singer KT Tunstall, who was virtually unknown a year ago, has seen major success in 2005.
Her debut album Eye to the Telescope has sold more than 500,000 copies and was also nominated for the Mercury Music Prize.
Glasgow-based band El Presidente, whose debut album of the same name was released earlier this week, complete the line-up for the gig, which is expected to be a sell-out.
Last year thousands braved the cold to see legendary US act Blondie, led by singer Debbie Harry, and New York band the Scissor Sisters.
