The Glencoe resort was put up for sale in February |
The Glencoe ski centre, which went into receivership earlier this year, is under new ownership. The White Corries resort, along with the Glenshee ski centre, were put up for sale in February, after combined losses of about 1m over two years.
Glencoe has been bought for an undisclosed sum by Glasgow businessmen David Campbell and Neil Tait.
They are planning to open the Glencoe centre all year round by developing facilities for climbers and walkers.
Won a reprieve
The Glenshee Chairlift Company had announced the closure of Glencoe in November.
It blamed the mild winter and a lack of snow in recent years for the downturn in business.
However, the resort won a reprieve after public pressure when it was decided to open at weekends with volunteer staff.
The 200-hectare resort, which was Scotland's first commercial ski centre when it opened in 1956, was put up for sale in February.
Delays in sale talks eventually forced the chairlift company to call in the receivers.
The deadline for offers to buy the Glenshee Chairlift Company passed last week.
The receivers, KPMG, said the bids were being reviewed and a preferred buyer would be announced later.
The details and the number of bidders could not be revealed for reasons of confidentiality but there has been speculation about a management buy-out at Glenshee.
