The multi-million pound Ratho Adventure Centre near Edinburgh has been saved from closure after being in receivership since March. Management of the centre has been taken over by Alistair Ritchie, who saved the Deep Sea World in North Queensferry.
The �22m Ratho centre was millions of pounds over budget and almost two years overdue when it opened last December.
Mr Ritchie confirmed the World Youth Climbing Championships will go ahead there next month.
The centre, which houses the world's largest indoor climbing arena, lasted just three months before its bankers at HBOS withdrew support and called in the receivers.
Having failed to find a buyer, a management company has now been appointed to run it, led by Mr Ritchie.
He said it was too early to explain exactly how he will bring the centre into profit.
The 120,000ft complex was built on a former quarry, has 100ft climbing walls and a stretch fabric roof, similar to that used on the Edinburgh's Dynamic Earth attraction.
