Mr Gough wore only a blanket tied around his waist with a belt |
The man dubbed the Naked Rambler has had sentence deferred after being tried in his absence at Dingwall Sheriff Court. Steven Gough, 44, from Hampshire, was earlier removed from the court when he refused to co-operate with proceedings while covered with a blanket.
Gough, who was originally arrested whilst attempting to walk naked from Lands End to John O'Groats, was remanded in custody and is expected to appear for sentence at Inverness Sheriff court later this month.
He had been brought from the cells to the courtroom on Friday in a red quilted cover with his hands handcuffed behind his back, but said he would refuse to co-operate with proceedings unless he could do so in the nude.
The trial continued in his absence with a solicitor appointed by the court to represent his interests.
The former Royal Marine has previously stated that his length of Britain trip dressed in nothing more than a bush hat and a pair of boots is a protest against what he sees as antiquated attitudes towards nakedness.
