Girl injured in air gun attack

The girl was struck by an air gun pellet
A teenage girl is receiving hospital treatment after being struck with an air gun pellet.

Strathclyde Police have appealed for witnesses after the 17-year-old was injured in Guthrie Street, Maryhill, Glasgow.

The girl was with two friends, both 16, when she was hit on the head by the air pellet at about 0145 GMT on Friday.

She was taken to the Western Infirmary and later transferred to the Southern General Hospital, where she was in a stable condition.

Her friends were uninjured in the incident.

Detective Constable Joe Quay of Maryhill CID appealed for witnesses or those who knew someone who owned an air rifle, to contact police.
