The 20th Bond film, Die Another Day, sees 007 wearing a number of products from Ballantyne Cashmere. The film, starring Pierce Brosnan, Halle Berry, Toby Stephens, Rosamund Pike and Judy Dench, will be released in the UK on 20 November. Bond star Pierce Brosnan becomes the spy who loved cashmere as he wears a chunky charcoal grey turtleneck sweater during an exciting sequence on the ice palace set. The sweater was made specifically for 007, and Ballantyne will sell the same sweater in its Bond Street, London, store and selected stockists. Jumper for joy Rosamund Pike, who plays Miranda Frost in the film, is licensed to thrill in a frost grey boucle cashmere polo selected from the Ballantyne Cashmere Autumn Winter 2002/3 collection. Ballantyne said it was "thrilled" to have worked alongside the Bond team to create the unique pieces. Dawson International, which sells its own range of knitwear under the Ballantyne Cashmere brand, is based in Kinross, Tayside. It buys raw cashmere fibre from goat herds in Inner Mongolia and spins the yarn in Scotland. The group has brought in a new Italian design and marketing team for its Ballantyne brand, which will unveil a new collection next year. | See also: 15 Oct 02 | Entertainment 11 Sep 02 | Scotland 10 Oct 02 | Talking Point Internet links: The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites Top Scotland stories now: Links to more Scotland stories are at the foot of the page. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
