Former Rangers centre half Ronnie Mackinnon played in the team which defeated the then world champions 3-2 at Wembley in 1967. His number 5 shirt is expected to sell for about �1,000 at the Christie's auction on 24 September.
The Scottish football memorabilia auction in London is expected to raise a total of more than �350,000. The items which are up for sale have gone on display in Edinburgh. David Convery, Christie's football memorabilia specialist, said the collection was expected to draw a lot of interest from UK buyers as well as ex-pat Scots. "This really is a fascinating collection and the quality of some of the items is just incredible," he said. Lisbon Lions "Items like these rarely come up and it is wonderful to see the amount of interest they have generated." One of the most unusual lots is an unused ticket for the European Cup Final in Lisbon in 1967, which is expected to sell for �300. The Celtic team - which became known as the Lisbon Lions - beat Inter Milan 2-1 to become the first British team to win the trophy.
A collection of material previously owned by pre-war Celtic and Scotland star James Delaney is also up for sale. He scored 160 goals in 305 appearances for the club, before going on to play for Manchester United, Derry City and Cork Athletic. He was the only player to play in four major domestic cup finals in the UK and Ireland. Delaney's collection of shirts, medals, caps and silver trophies includes a gold and enamel Scottish Cup medal won in April 1937, which is valued at �4,000. Transport posters The sale also features an item signed by current Celtic star Henrik Larsson. A pair of the Swedish international's size nine-and-a-half Umbro boots are expected to sell for more than �500.
