Cybersquatting IV

By Alan Connor
The Daily Politics

POSTED: Monday 25 April, 1730BST

Cybersquatting proper (see here and here) is, cheeringly, on the wane.

Apart, that is, from a skirmish in Northern Ireland between the DUP and the UUP: the former party's Jim Allister hadn't finished setting up jimallister.com, and a cheeky member of the UUP finished the job, using the domain in the process.

We're still seeing stunt registrations, though. On Saturday, Labour launched their newest slogan, "If You Value It, Vote For It".

On Sunday, ifyouvalueitvoteforit.com was registered - and the site is up today. No prizes for guessing the registrant.

And sticking with the plus a change... feeling for a moment longer, the votes have started appearing on auction website eBay again. A ballot in Norwich North is currently going for 1p.
