Lord Adonis makes transport pledge

Transport Secretary Lord Adonis says everything is being done to ensure UK citizens return home.

As flight restrictions continue following reports of the volcanic ash cloud drifting to the UK, he added the government would not ''put passenger safety at risk''.

Lord Adonis also confirmed that naval warships were standing by to ferry people back to Britain.
