Journalist Andrew Rawnsley has defended his book which claims that Gordon Brown bullied his staff at Downing Street.
Mr Rawnsley's book, which is being serialised by The Observer newspaper, describes how the prime minister shouted at staff and on one occasion grabbed an aide by the lapels.
Downing Street has strenuously denied the allegations, saying they are "malicious" and totally without foundation.
Andrew Rawnsley told the BBC's political correspondent, Norman Smith, that he had ''24 carat'' sources.
