Mandelson denies PM bully claims

Business Secretary Peter Mandelson has said Gordon Brown is ''very demanding of people'' but does not bully them.

Lord Mandelson was responding to extracts from a new book in the Observer newspaper by its chief political commentator Andrew Rawnsley.

Downing Street has already rejected the paper's claims that the prime minister mistreated staff and was investigated over the issue by a top civil servant.
