Tony Blair: 'Pretty decent case' war in Iraq was legal

A "pretty decent case" for the legality of the Iraq war could be made using UN resolution 1441 alone, according to Tony Blair.

He told the Iraq inquiry the resolution was clear in giving Saddam Hussein "one last chance", and he did not take it.

He said Lord Goldsmith had "said there was a case either way" and that while "it would have been preferable to have the second resolution... we got to the point in the middle of March when we had to decide", and Mr Blair "decided we should go forward."
