Tories claim UK gas supplies low

Figures obtained by the Conservative Party reveal the UK has only eight days worth of gas storage remaining, based on current usage levels.

Shadow Energy Secretary, Greg Clark said, "Gas supply shortages are already being predicted in the North West and East Midlands and at today's level of demand we only have enough stored gas for another 8 days worth of supply."

In response the National Grid urged people to use their energy efficiently but said gas supplies are not going to run out.
