Labour wins Glasgow North East seat

Labour's Willie Bain said his win in the Glasgow North East by-election was a "victory for Gordon Brown and for Labour".

Mr Bain polled 12,231 votes in the by-election which was sparked by Michael Martin's resignation as Commons Speaker in the wake of the MP expenses scandal.
