The UK Independence Party believes it can win over Tory voters after an apparent u-turn by the Conservative Party on its European policy.
Its leader, Nigel Farage, said he was "relieved" the "long phoney war" was over but insisted British voters do not want closer links with Europe.
Conservative leader David Cameron denied his party is in turmoil after he was forced to abandon the promised referendum on the Lisbon Treaty.
