Cameron on Truss 'deselection'

David Cameron has responded to calls for the deselection of a female Conservative MP in his monthly press briefing.

Elizabeth Truss was only chosen as a Tory candidate at the weekend, but South West Norfolk Conservative Association members are reportedly angry that she did not let them know about an affair with Tory MP Mark Field four year ago.

Mr Cameron said the affair had been "publicly known" and that he hoped she would receive "the support she deserves."
