Tory leader David Cameron has accused the government of losing control of the country's finances.
Mr Cameron said that Labour has been "asleep on the job" and was reacting too late to increasing national borrowing.
Mr Cameron was reacting to news that Chancellor Alistair Darling has begun holding one-to-one meetings with cabinet members to look at possible spending cuts.
