David Cameron has pledged to end MPs' subsidised alcohol and food and reduce ministerial salaries if the Tories win power at the next election.
In an interview with the BBC's Nick Robinson, he admitted that the figure involved was small compared to the overall budget deficit, but insisted it was still an important move and a question of "leadership."
