The inquiry into the Iraq war has been launched, amid pressure for as much as possible of it to be held in public.
Chairman Sir John Chilcot set out the terms and timescale of the inquiry at a press conference to mark its launch.
He confirmed that former prime minister Tony Blair will appear before the inquiry and that as many as possible of the hearings will be held in public.
