Mandelson backs claims investigation

Business Secretary Peter Mandelson has said the police are right to investigate cases where MPs may have made fraudulent expenses claims.

His comments came after it was announced that Scotland Yard had begun an inquiry into the alleged misuse of expenses by a small number of MPs and peers.
