Private inquiry on Iraq 'a mistake'

Former International Development Secretary Clare Short has said a private inquiry into the Iraq war will not get at the truth.

Prime Minister Gordon Brown said the hearing will be carried out behind closed doors to take into account national security.

The Independent MP, who once accused former premier Tony Blair of telling "half-truths and deceits to get us to war in Iraq,'' said Mr Brown had made the wrong decision.
