Blears' private secretary speaks

Hazel Blears' Parliamentary Private Secretary, Rob Flello, has spoken to the BBC about her decision to resign from the cabinet.

He described her as a "grass roots" politician who was quitting her cabinet post in order to "reconnect with the people". But he refused to be drawn on her relationship with the Prime minister, claiming that he "would be very surprised if she didn't" support him.
