Smith: Blears is loss to government

Communities Secretary Hazel Blears has resigned from the cabinet, just one day after it was revealed Home Secretary Jacqui Smith would stand down.

Ms Smith, who wants to remain an MP, said Hazel Blears' decision to stand down from the cabinet was a loss to the government.
