Brown faces pressure to step down

Gordon Brown is facing pressure to stand down in the wake of resignations and an expected poor showing in the European and local elections, caused by the expenses row.

The Guardian newspaper, which has traditionally backed Labour, has used an editorial to say Mr Brown has "no vision, no plan and no support".
