Labour 'must re-engage with voters'

Former Home Secretary David Blunkett has urged Gordon Brown to regain the political initiative after what has been termed the prime minister's worst week in the job.

Mr Blunkett said the controversy over MPs' expenses and Gurkha settlement rights meant the government must re-engage with the public.
