A rebellion by Labour MPs opposed to the part-privatisation of Royal Mail is growing with more than 60 now urging the government to rethink its plans to sell a minority stake in Royal Mail.

Geraldine Smith, one of the Labour MP's behind a Commons motion opposing the proposal, says the Royal Mail does need to be modernised, but not privatised.

She says she fears partial privatisation will lead to full privatisation.
