Public workers 'victims' of inflation

Unions have voted for a pay major protest campaign against the government's public sector pay policy.

Speaking at the TUC conference, general secretary Brendan Barber said public service workers were not the cause of inflation but its victims, in reference to the 2% pay award limit the government has imposed on them.
