Temporary posts to go at Seagate

Seagate
Seagate said the move would not affect core staff in Londonderry

Technology company Seagate has told 45 temporary workers at its Londonderry plant their contracts would not be renewed.

The production operators are brought in when demand for products is high, and most have been at the Buncrana Road site for less than a year.

Seagate said its 1,400 strong core workforce is not affected by the move.

Last month, the company closed its factory in Limavady with the loss of almost 1,000 jobs.
