Seagate closure brought forward

Seagate

It has emerged that the closing date for the Seagate plant in Limavady has been brought forward by five weeks.

The plant was due to close on October 31 but will now close its doors on September 25.

It is understood workers will still be paid until the end of October and their redundancies will not be affected by the early closure.

The American company has had a base in Limavady for the last decade.
